CAT 2019: Exam Date, Application, Important Dates & Overview
CAT 2019 is the most popular management entrance exam which is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode. CAT 2019 registration has started on August 9, 2019 and ended on September 25, 2019. The exam was conducted on November 24, 2019 (Sunday). The result date of CAT 2019 is January 6, 2020.
The syllabus of CAT 2020 holds sections such as Verbal and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Analysis, etc. After registration, students need to fill out the CAT 2019 application form along with several documents such as scanned passport size photographs, scanned signature, NC-OBC/SC/ST certificate, PwD certificate etc. A total of 112 institutions have participated for the exam. One important point to remember is that CAT 2019 is a computer based exam and not an online exam. The difficulty level of CAT exam is moderate to difficult.

Any graduate with 50% marks is eligible to apply for CAT 2019. Candidates of any age can apply for CAT 2019.CAT 2019 Exam Application and Registration
CAT 2019 application form is released by IIM, Kozhikode and candidates need to fill it carefully along with correct sizes of scanned images of photograph & signature. They need to download the EWS, NC-OBC, SC/ST, PwD certificates from the CAT website, enter the required information and self-attest, scan as PDF document & upload the certificates on the CAT website. CAT entrance 2019 is scheduled on November 24, 2019 (Sunday) in two sessions. The registration date for CAT 2019 started on August 7, 2019 and ended on September 18, 2019. Admit cards are available for download from October 23 to November 24, 2019. Results will be declared during the 2nd week of January, tentatively.

The syllabus for CAT is vast and IIMs do not release a detailed syllabus. Yet we can divide the CAT syllabus into four major components based on past exams and changes introduced by IIMs:- Overall syllabus for CAT 2019 - Split section wise with overall 100 questions carrying 300 marks
- CAT 2019 syllabus for VARC: 34 questions on limited topics, carrying 102 marks
- CAT 2019 syllabus for DILR: 32 questions on changed topics every year, carrying 96 marks
- CAT 2019 syllabus for Quant: 34 questions with more focus on Arithmetic, now carrying 102 marks
CAT 2019 Exam Pattern
CAT exam 2019 was divided into MCQs and Non-MCQ type questions and was conducted in two separate sessions - morning and afternoon. The MCQ part carries negative marking for wrong answers. The tutorial by IIM, Kozhikode was released for better understanding the format of CAT 2019 exam and question pattern on the CAT 2019 website on October 16, 2019.CAT 2019 Exam Results
As discussed, results will be declared during the 2nd week of January, tentatively. IIM will inform that the ‘CAT Score Card is live’ after the declaration of CAT results. Students need to download their CAT 2019 score cards immediately after the declaration of results from the official CAT website. The score is valid score only till December 31, 2020.
